上面几首歌曲和配乐都和一首歌曲有关--Danny Boy。大明猩的OST当中，序曲、尾曲和玲玲主题曲都使用了它的旋律，遗憾的是网上并没有发布这张专辑，所以无法发布链接。本次主要评论Danny Boy。
Danny Boy《丹尼少年》，由爱尔兰民谣《伦敦德里小调》改编，原是一个世纪前，一位爱尔兰父亲写给即将从军的儿子，告诉他说，当你下次回来的时候，我大概已经躺在坟里，就像整个夏天的过去，花朵的凋零，就像你现在要走，也不能挽留。后来，作者又加上第四段，才使得这首歌由父子间的诀别，变成了好似情人的分手。 照爱尔兰民歌的原始意味，这首歌是写父子之情，Danny Boy最后寻找到的，是父子之爱。歌曲听来抒情优美，哀而不伤，《八佰》中战争导致的亲人朋友间的离别非常符合这一描述，片尾曲苏州河的旋律恰好是Danny Boy。
