这是pendragon进入新世纪后发布的首张专辑，距离他们发布上一张化装舞会已经过去了五年了，这是由于其核心巴雷特的家庭和婚姻出现了一定问题导致的。也很可能是出于这个悲伤的个人原因，巴雷特在新专辑中的人声显得有些诡异和邪恶，代表着内心的一种不平静，这与他过往一贯的天真、直率的声音有一些不同。
而在音乐上，他们有些摒弃了上一张过分商业化的特色，If I Were The Wind [And You Were The Rain]的开场令人想起伟大的The Window Of Life的开场曲，再次有种shine on的味道浮现出来。这首歌的结尾也有巴雷特标志性的吉他solo。而这首歌的主题似乎也与巴雷特的失败婚姻有关，它表达了一种战胜困难重新出发的主题，但最后巴雷特表示还是忘不掉过往，显得有些悲壮。
但在我看来这张专辑的问题在于过多的个人演唱和过于夸夸其谈的演奏，有些过犹不及。显然，睽违多年的pendragon试图想要证明自己，因而这张专辑的时长是他们所有专辑中最长的，达到了67分钟，而他们的专辑一般来说就在55分钟左右。巴雷特在专辑中进行了大量的个人演唱，其吉他和Clive Nolan的键盘有些过于浮夸。在我看来，有太多的演奏是没有必要的，仅仅是为了做出一首长曲而填塞进许多没什么特色的素材，这67分钟听来有些过于冗长了。
而除了开场曲If I Were The Wind和结尾曲Worlds End, b) And Finally是杰出的之外（在我看来也不能算太杰出，在pendragon的所有杰出歌曲中可能仅仅是一般水准），其他的歌曲有种冗长无趣的感觉，像是被刻意拉长的。我们被淹没在巴雷特滔滔不绝的演唱和很水的吉他独奏中，主题曲Not Of This World充满了Clive Nolan夸夸其谈的键盘。Not Of This World似乎表达了整张专辑的主题，一个不属于血肉之躯人类的世界，这个世界充满拜金主义（有点对现代的批判意味在内吧），封面也引用了圣经中亚当夏娃的传说，但对于真正的亚当夏娃来说，这个世界不属于他们。而在World’s End中，歌词也提到了世界不属于他们的原因，世界疯狂而好战，孩子们迷失了，而最后也表达要脱离这个不真实世界的愿望。当然这是一个很常见的主题，pendragon似乎想要用爱、信仰来化解争端，所谓“有信仰，就有真理，有爱，但其中最伟大的是爱”，这当然和peter gee是基督教徒有关，他一直想要做一张关于《圣经》的专辑，并在19年完成了。
两首长曲A Man Of Nomadic Traits和Worlds End, a) The Last Children有些过于相似，我几乎分不清它们的区别来，仿佛它们由一种共同的模式塑造而来。总体来看，这张专辑虽然在及格线上，但并不能代表pendragon的真正实力，尽管有两首不错的歌曲。但变革即将到来，这种元素丰富、浮夸艳丽的封面将不再存在（延续了四张之久），而音乐上他们也将变得更加多变和现代化，更金属更沉重，电子和流行，或许这是pendragon古典时代的最后一章。
