要
Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, youll land among the star.
=======================
If you shed tears when you miss the sun, you also miss the stars.(Stray Bird)
========================

There is a related expression "to shoot for the moon", which is obviously the previous stage in the process, meaning to set oneself a very ambitious target without much chance of success.
Therefore if one actually *does* manage to "shoot the moon", one has achieved a very unlikely outcome.
Both expressions may be connected with the fact that "the moon" has long been used as a symbol for something utterly and unrealistically unobtainable - cf. "Theres no use crying for the moon" and "Hes asking for the moon there".

#推荐# Norah Jones的《Shoot The Moon》这首歌,歌词也挺美的,不过“You shoot the moon and miss completely”这句在网易云上被翻译成了“你想拍摄美丽的月亮却扑了个空”......(捂脸)
