创作背景：
1964年，Paul Simon移居欧洲后，开始在巴黎和英国伦敦各种民间俱乐部中演出。返回纽约后，他与CBS的唱片公司签约，制作人为Tom Wilson，并且重新与他的老搭档Garfunkel合作。
1967年，Paul Simon和Garfunkel有一个重要的计划是为电影《毕业生》担任音乐制作，在1968年哥伦比亚唱片公司发行的电影原声唱片中，人们听到了《寂静之声》。
