《As Good As Gold (EP)》是Pendragon在化装舞会序曲之后推出的一张EP，包含了那张专辑的一些零碎素材。其实就那张专辑来说，我的评价是很低的，只有Masters Of Illusion或可成为经典。而这张EP在我看来就更加糟糕了。它先是截取了专辑中最商业的一段作为开场，As Good As Gold本身就够糟了，还专门截出了最难听的一段。Bird Of Paradise虽然主题不错，是说人通过努力丑小鸭变天鹅了，歌词也很励志，但整首歌都在昏昏欲睡地演唱，虽然尾奏有些不错的地方，但总体来说依然很平庸，是Pendragon的平均水准吧，食之无味弃之可惜。Midnight Running的水平几乎这前一首差不多，通篇的无聊演唱加上一般的器乐演奏，虽然也有美妙的时刻，但不足为道。主题来说也很平常，是说想要突破平凡生活，而努力改变自我、迈出一步，也很励志，但太普通了，这在Pendragon的歌曲中太常见了。A Million Miles Away只是一首简单的键盘氛围下的抒情短歌，主题模糊，似乎在说寻找什么的“我”感到恍惚，当人们和我交谈时我却神游千里。这首歌微不足道，无论演唱还是音乐都让人提不起兴趣。我不知道Pendragon为何发布了如此糟糕的一张EP，正如我不知道为什么评论家认为The Masquerade Overture是他们最好的专辑一样，太奇怪了！
