实际上网易云上已经有翻译了...不过我想再翻译一次并结合Genius上面的注释让歌词内容补充得更完整。这份歌词是完全的一篇干货,Vinnie Paz受左派历史学家Howard Zinn影响在歌词中以时间顺序讲述自己对美国历史的理解,讲述的是从哥伦布到一战结束的历史,要注意歌词中所站的立场是完全主观的。在去年发行的新专辑里Vinnie还接着用这个模式创作了一首算是Part 2的歌(虽然也有翻译了...),晚些时候我会继续翻译那一篇。说起来还是喜欢翻译这类干货满满的歌词,就算已经有翻译了,自己翻译一遍也是学习历史/英语的过程...
先简单的介绍一下Howard Zinn吧。霍华德·津恩(1922年8月24日-2010年1月27日),美国左翼历史学家,政治学者,社会评论家,剧作家。二十世纪六十年代以来,在美国民权、反战活动中相当活跃。一度是美国FBI反间谍计划中的目标之一,在美国国防部关于越南战争的五角大楼秘密文件中曾有提到他。 代表作为《美国人民的历史》(A Peoples History of the United States),试图从美国下层人民、弱势群体的视角和社会活动挖掘“另类”史料,考察美国的历史和传统。 2010年1月27日因心脏病于加州圣莫尼卡去世。①这里的歌名"You Cant Be Neutral On a Moving Train"(你不能在一列驶向罪恶的火车上保持中立,在歌词中我会详细解释)便出自他的同名回忆录。
